Welcome to Adams Township

AdamsTwpBldg-5-2-2013amAdams Township, named for President John Quincy Adams, was created in 1854 from the western part of Middlesex Township and the eastern part of Cranberry Township, two of the original Butler County Townships  established in 1804. Butler County had only been formed in 1800 and the earliest settlements in Adams had occurred in 1796, responding to the passage by Congress of the Depreciation Lands Act of 1783, which  authorized land grants to Revolutionary War Veterans. All of southern Butler County was within the Depreciation Lands Area.

To All Township Residents & Business Owners:

The Adams Township Public Works Department is having trouble navigating the township roads for snow removal due to cars parked along the streets.
Street parking is permitted in many locations except for Adams Ridge; please understand that the township plow trucks need to be able to clear the roads as complete as possible.  There have been many instances where the trucks cannot get through.  If trucks cannot get through then emergency vehicles may not be able to get to homes in an emergency.
Please stay off the streets whenever possible and especially during snow events.
Please also note that plowing or blowing snow onto the street is NOT permitted.
Your cooperation is appreciated and will make the roads safer and passable for all, especially emergency vehicles.
Thank you!

The Swift 911 mass notification system is utilized to alert residents regarding emergencies such as fires, outages, floods, hurricanes, evacuations and road issues such as closures and paving.  Swift 911 will also notify you of current Parks and Recreation events.
